How do I FTP with Internet Explorer?
Internet Explorer has an FTP feature available that lets you upload your files to your server in the same way that you handle files on your own computer.

If you don't have any scripts on your site, you might find using this feature the simplest way to put your files on the server.

  • Type in the location of your site. Rather than using the familiar "http://" to begin with, you will begin with "ftp://". [See picture]
  • A box will pop up asking you to log on. [See picture]
  • Enter your username and password. [See picture]
  • Once you have successfully logged on, you will see a list of folders. [See picture]
  • Click or double click on the httpdocs folder. This is the folder where you will put your site.  The other folders are part of your site configuration, and anything you put in them won't be visible to your users. [See picture]
  • Open up the folder that has your site in it and simply drag and drop as if you were moving files from one folder on your computer to another. [See picture]
